Specialises in
I have over 20 years experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology and I am working as a Consultant for the last 7 years at North Middlesex Hospital, London. I am the current lead for Gynaecological cancer at my Trust. I am well versed in assessing women with pelvic pain, menstrual problems, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, Fibroids, vulval problems, Menopause issues and early gyanecological cancers.Â
I am well experienced in performing operations like, hysteroscopy (both outpatient and in patient) and removal of polyps/fibroids, keyhole hysterectomies/removal of ovarian cysts as well as open surgeries where needed. I can perform general gynaecological reviews including cervical smears, genital swabs for infection, vulval/labial minor surgeries and initial fertility investigations.
I have performed over 250 key hole hystrectomies, >400 laparoscopic procedures including treatment of ovarian cysts/ endometriosis/treatment of infection and more than 500 hysteroscopies and I stongly believe in meticulous planning when choosing the correct procedure in partnership with the patient.
My patient-centred approach fosters a supportive and comfortable environment where patients can openly discuss their health concerns and receive individualised treatment plans. I have had multiple Greatix awards from North Mid over the last three years for improving care for patients. I believe in providing compassionate and personalised care to patients, prioritising their well-being and individual needs.
I obtained my medical degree from India and then completed my specialist training leading to CCT (Certificate of completion of training) in East of England deanery, UK in 2018. I specialised in several advanced training modules including Labour ward management, Open and laparoscopic abdominal surgery, early pregnancy and gynaecological scanning and medical education.
I am an avid teacher of gynaecological surgery. I am an assistant professor at St George's school of Medicine, Grenada and in my current role as college tutor, I supervise senior trainees who undergo the Advanced Training Module (ATSM) in gynaecological surgery offered by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).
I have published in international journals, and I attend national and international conferences which helps to keep my knowledge up to date. I secured the first place in North Mid Improvement Expo October 2023 for outstanding cancer care for Gynaecological patients.
