MRCP Gastroenterology and General Medicine, MRCP
I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician who trained in Leeds at St James Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. I have a wealth of experience in gastroenterology including conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), oesophageal disorders such as reflux (heartburn) and oesophageal cancer, dyspepsia (indigestion), bowel cancer, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and coeliac disease.
I also manage patients with diarrhoea and constipation. I am a highly skilled endoscopist performing safe and thorough procedures with minimal amounts of discomfort in procedures such as diagnostic gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy, as well as advanced colonoscopic therapy such as polyp removal (polypectomy and endomucosal resection). I am able to offer investigation with Video Capsule Endoscopy, which is a non-invasive means of viewing the small bowel, and have recently began to carry out Video Colon Capsule Endoscopy in patients where a colonoscopy is considered not to be possible or desirable.
I moved to Essex in 2011 working as a Consultant at Southend University Hospital and was then formally appointed to the post of Consultant Gastroenterologist in 2013.
I welcome appropriate patients wishing to refer and pay for treatment themselves without the need for a GPs letter of referral and am available on Monday afternoons from 2pm - 5pm.
