Questions about: Iron, vitamin and mineral level tests
Our advisors can help: Make an enquiry

A simple blood test can help to identify a lack of certain vitamins, minerals and iron in the blood. Having a deficiency can have a significant impact on your health.

Why you might need it

The lack of certain vitamins and iron in your blood can have significant effects on your health. Symptoms you may be experiencing include a loss of appetite or taste, an intolerance to the cold, dandruff, hair loss, redness at the side of your nose or eyes, a yellowing of the skin on your face or upper body, brittle, upturned or flaking nails, and muscle wasting.

Or you may simply feel tired or off-colour, and want to get to the root of the cause of your symptoms.

A simple blood test can test whether you have deficiencies in vitamins and minerals including:

  • Calcium
  • Iron
  • Zinc
  • Magnesium
  • Folate (folic acid)
  • All vitamin B types including vitamin B12
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin C

Before your treatment

You will have a formal consultation with a healthcare professional. During this time you will be able to explain your medical history, symptoms and raise any concerns that you might have.

We will also discuss with you whether any further diagnostic tests, such as scans or blood tests, are needed. Any additional costs will be discussed before further tests are carried out.

We will contact you for a follow up appointment with the results of your test within 24 hours.

Once diagnosed, it may be possible to remedy a vitamin or mineral deficiency through the use of supplements and a change in your diet.
