Eleanor Barron, Children and young people lead

Graduating from the University of Auckland in 2018, I was fortunate to be prized with most distinguished clinical practice and entered my career in emergency nursing at Starship Children’s Hospital. Growing my nursing career at Starship, I began coordinating the department covering emergencies for New Zealand and the South Pacific, as the only designated children’s hospital. I also created an e-learning and practical sign off programme for paediatric venepuncture and cannulation, used today across the hospital. In 2022 I completed a rural emergency contract in Australia, gaining experience with both adult and paediatric emergencies in a minimally resourced setting before moving to London and working between St Thomas/Evelina, St Mary’s, Royal London, and Croydon Paediatric A&E’s. I am passionate about children and young people, and excited to be leading the CYP service at Spire St Anthony’s.

Harriet Rose Pollard, Children and young people's nurse

I graduated from Kings College London University in 2018 and worked at The Evelina London Children’s Hospital caring for children with neurological and metabolic conditions. Following on from this, I have spent my time nursing within the community working with children with complex care needs, spending some time working for the ambulance service and then within the role of paediatric epilepsy nurse specialist. My areas of interest include nursing children with special educational needs, complex care and medical needs and supporting children with chronic/long term conditions.

Why choose Spire St Anthony’s Hospital for your child's treatment?

We offer surgery services for children and young people covering a wide range of treatments and operations, all available in the comfort of a local, clean and private hospital environment.

Our services include:

  • Inpatient services for children aged 3-18
  • Outpatient services for children aged 0-18
  • Face-to-face pre-assessments
  • 24/7 support
  • Family centred care

If your child should need medical treatment, our dedicated team of healthcare professionals including specialist paediatric consultants, anaesthetists and nurses will ensure that they receive the very best care.

We are able to provide treatment for both privately insured and self-funding patients, and a GP referral letter is not always necessary.

Consultations

We see children from 0-18 years in our outpatient department for consultations. Consultations are with a specialist of your choice, subject to availability. Each of our consultants have comprehensive experience treating children within the NHS.

Physiotherapy

We see and treat children over the age of six years old in our physiotherapy department which also has a hydrotherapy pool to aid rehabilitation.

Radiology

We see and treat children in our radiology department. Access is fast and if any invasive radiology is required, this is assessed with support from our children and young people’s nurses.

Surgery

We can admit children aged 3-18 years for surgery following a consultation and pre-operative assessment.

Young people aged over 16 years old have the option of being treated under adult services, if they feel this is more appropriate. These requests are assessed by the Children and Young People’s Team.

We know that when children need to come into hospital, it can be an anxious time for the whole family – that’s why we offer you and your child an opportunity to visit the hospital prior to admission, become familiar with the surroundings and meet the experts who will be involved in their care.

If surgery is needed, our young patients will be admitted at a mutually convenient time and will stay in a private, en-suite room with a TV. A specialist nurse will be assigned to them for the duration of their stay to ensure that all their needs are met.

If you would like to arrange a visit to the hospital prior to any appointments or surgery you can contact the hospital on 0203 695 0300 extension 4594 or email stanthonyscyp@spirehealthcare.com
