I am an invited reviewer for a number of medical journals. I continue to contribute to the medical literature although my main nonclinical focus now is on the managerial and organisational aspects of neurosurgery and spinal surgery in the region.

I am married with three children and spend time with my family whenever possible. I have been a high level athlete in the past and competed at national level in rowing as a younger man. I have run the London Marathon three times and complete in long distance triathlon. I am a five time Ironman Lanzarote finisher.
