Professional profile

I have been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at St George's since completing my specialist and fellowship-level training. I specialise in knee surgery including arthroscopy, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, osteotomy and partial knee replacement for localised arthritis and total knee replacement for generalised arthritis. I am also a visiting consultant at Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court where I treat serving soldiers with lower limb sports and training injuries. Given my military background and extensive trauma experience in the UK and on operational deployments I also specialise in fracture surgery.

As a consultant knee surgeon I perform around 100 knee arthroscopies, 50 ACL reconstructions and 100 knee replacements per year.

In addition to my clinical work I am an also an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor and am on the faculty of the Association for the Study of Internal Fixation (ASIF/AO). I regularly teach medical students and post-graduate junior doctors at St George's.

My philosophy is of individualised care based on the best current evidence and at all times adhering to the highest standards of professionalism and compassion.

Personal Profile

My wife and I do our best to get some balance between the work I am dedicated to and enjoying time with our two young children. Weekends are filled with coaching mini-rugby with my son, tennis with my daughter, bike rides, dog walks and quality time with friends and families.
