Professional profile

I have been in the field of Radiology since 1994. I have had extensive training in all modalities in Radiology at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka (a 3,000 bed tertiary centre) and at Guy's & St Thomas NHS Trust. I have been working as a Consultant in Radiology since 2001. I have worked in Teaching and District General Hospitals in Sri Lanka and the National Hospital of Sri Lanka as a Consultant till 2006. I have been working in the NHS since 2006 at consultant level and have worked in various trusts, including tertiary referral centres.

I have wide experience in CT scanning, plain radiography (X-ray) reporting and ultrasound. My special interest is Nuclear Medicine planar and Hybrid SPECT/CT imaging.

I report around 2,500 CT scans each year and similar number of Nuclear Imaging. From 2008-2014, I did more than 2,000 ultrasounds per year and more than 14,000 plain x-ray reporting.

I am ARSAC License holder for Nuclear Imaging at my NHS Trust and Lead Radiologist for Haematology MDT.
