I graduated from University of Leicester Medical School. I gained postgraduate experience in a number of London teaching Hospitals including St George's Hospital in Tooting. I carried out my research for a higher MD degree at Hammersmith Hospital in London. My research focused on mechanisms of gut repair following injury, such as in Inflammatory Bowel Disease or following the use of non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

I currently hold a position as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Epsom and St Helier NHS hospitals. I have extensive experience in all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology as well as endoscopy.

My particular interests and expertise are in the management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, acid related disorders, functional gut disorders and chronic liver disease. My interests in endoscopy are both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy of the upper and lower GI tract. This includes dilatation of strictures, luminal stent insertion, variceal band ligation and photo-coagulation. I am also fully trained in therapeutic ERCP.

I have published several original papers in peer reviewed journals.
