- Spire Parkway Hospital completes the NJR data quality audit and is recognised as a Gold-level Quality Data Provider
The National Joint Registry (NJR) has recognised colleagues at Spire Parkway Hospital for achieving all mandatory audit requirements and for their exemplary adherence to the NJR’s national data quality standards. Receiving the gold award reflects the hospital’s strong commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
The NJR collects and monitors high-quality orthopaedic data on the performance of hip, knee, ankle, elbow and shoulder joint replacement in order to support patient safety, standards in quality of care, and overall value in joint replacement surgery, as well as to provide feedback on surgical performance to orthopaedic clinicians and joint replacement implant manufacturers.
The ‘NJR Quality Data Provider’ certificate scheme was introduced to offer hospitals a blueprint for reaching high-quality standards relating to patient safety and to reward those who have met the registry’s high targets in the achievement of the quality of the data collected.
Gold-standard NJR Quality Data Provider: Spire Parkway Hospital team
The annual NJR Data Quality Audit compares the number of joint replacement procedures submitted to the registry to the number of procedures that have been carried out and recorded in the local hospital Patient Administration System. The audit ensures that the NJR is collecting and reporting the most complete, accurate data possible in all hospitals performing joint replacement operations, including Spire Parkway Hospital.
Emily Montgomery, Hospital Director at Spire Parkway Hospital, said: “Ensuring patient safety through robust processes and high-quality data review is central to the work we do at Spire Parkway Hospital. Our teams take this responsibility extremely seriously. We fully support the National Joint Registry’s audit programme, which plays an important role in driving improvements in clinical outcomes for joint replacement patients. We’re proud to have been recognised as an ‘NJR Quality Data Provider’ and delighted that the team’s commitment to accurate, high-standard data reporting has been acknowledged.”
Medical Director of the National Joint Registry, Mr Tim Wilton, said: “Congratulations to colleagues at Spire Parkway Hospital. The Quality Data Provider Award received by the team at this hospital demonstrates the high standards that are being met in ensuring compliance with the registry and is a reflection of the strong departmental efforts to achieve such status.”
