Living with and beyond cancer day

10 November 2017

A special all day event called 'Living With and Beyond Cancer' will be held at the George Fentham Trust in Hampton-in-Arden on Friday 10 November from 9.30am to 4.30pm

Hosted by Spire Parkway Hospital’s Specialist Care Centre, the event is open to anyone who is being treated or has been treated for cancer, as well as any of their family or friends.

Experts will be on hand to discuss topics such as healthy eating, the importance of keeping active, handling fears and anxieties and complimentary therapies such as acupuncture and reiki therapy.

Advice will also be given on handling finances at what can be a very difficult time, as well as hormonal changes cancer patients may experience.

Leading the event Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist Angela Collett said: “Dealing with cancer and the treatments involved can be very difficult, both for the patient and for their loved ones.

"We hope we will be able to show positive ways of dealing with problems that may arise. Also when treatment has ended people often feel abandoned and lost - it is important to know that there is support out there for you.

If you wish to attend please contact the Spire Specialist Care Centre on 0121 704 5528 or 0121 704 5560, or alternatively use the booking form.

Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day and a buffet lunch will be provided by Macmillan Cancer Support.
