The hospital was given five stars following a thorough examination that covered general cleanliness, fridge temperatures and preparation methods among many other things.
Hospital head chef Matthew Hooton said he was delighted with the five star rating but added that he would have been "shocked" had it been anything less.
“Good food starts in a clean kitchen,” he said. “We’re a hospital, we take hygiene very seriously and I really would have been very disappointed if we didn’t get top marks. The staff are all fully aware of the importance of this inspection and we all work together to maintain the highest hygiene standards possible.”
