Treatment restrictions due to coronavirus (COVID-19)

As part of our longstanding relationship, we are proud to be dedicating our resources to the NHS at this important time. As a result many of our treatments are currently suspended and we are reviewing all planned procedures and consultations. We are making every effort to talk to impacted patients and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Professional profile

I am an experienced breast surgeon with a proven track record in providing patient-centered breast service since 2004. I have experience of undertaking one-stop, follow-up, results and teaching breast clinics. I was nominated by patients for the Trust “Excellence in Clinical Care Award”.

I specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. I am highly experienced in carrying out procedures such as lumpectomy, mastectomy, implant-based breast reconstruction with dermal flaps and ADMs, therapeutic mammoplasty, Crescent, LICAP and rotational flaps for breast conserving surgery, fat grafting and nipple reconstruction.

I have performed more than 1000 breast operations including mastectomy, lumpectomy, sentinel node biopsy, axillary clearance and partial and full breast reconstruction based on implants. Since 2004, I perform an average of 30 detected breast cancer operations each year.

In addition to my clinical commitment, I am proud to serve as an honorary professor at Aston University, Birmingham. I lead a very productive research group of doctors, scientists and healthcare professionals.

I am a recognised course director and trainer for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I have been teaching on the trainer course and training in clinical environment course for more than five years.

I promote research into breast disease by taking part in the peer review of scientific articles such as The Breast, The Breast Journal, EJSO, Acta Oncologica, Disability and Rehabilitation. I routinely evaluate scientific literature for the clinical guideline site. I have been awarded a Certificate of Reviewing Excellence by European Journal of Surgical Oncology. I have experience of rating medical evidence for McMaster Online Rating of Evidence (MORE) System for the last five years.
