I qualified from Guy's Hospital in London in 1994 having obtained a BSc in Pharmacology from University College London (UCL) in 1992. I completed my surgical training around London and the south east including a masters degree in surgical sciences from UCL.
I became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998 and went on to complete higher surgical training in plastic surgery in the North West and Wales. I have undertaken specialist fellowships in the field of cancer reconstruction at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and in Wellington, New Zealand. I passed the Intercollegiate speciality examination in plastic surgery, FRCS (Plast), in 2005 and I am on the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery. I worked as a consultant in plastic and re-constructive surgery in Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.
