I also treat elbow disorders including; tennis elbow, golfers elbow and I carry out elbow arthroscopies.
I established the Birmingham Knee and Shoulder Clinic, Birmingham, West Midlands, over 13 years ago and in 2007 I transferred to full time private practice, but I still maintain an Honorary NHS Contract at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital as well as being an Honorary Clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham.
I am an established authority in knee and shoulder surgery in the UK and a regular faculty member at national meetings, teaching at regional orthopaedic training programmes including; Oswestry, Sheffield, Leicester, Cardiff, Cambridge and Birmingham. I am also a regular demonstrator in arthroscopic surgery workshops of the knee and shoulder for UK and overseas consultant orthopaedic surgeons, having previously been a surgical tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
I am part of the Birmingham Knee and Shoulder Clinic, Birmingham, West Midlands, a private clinic established to provide treatment and care for conditions of the knee and shoulder in one to one clinics consultations. I provide a complete service encompassing diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Arthroscopic, reconstructive and replacement surgery are all performed to the highest standards.
Diseases of the knee and shoulder are common and second only to that of the spine. Therefore effective treatment of conditions affecting these two joints requires consultant surgeons with high degrees of specialisation.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Duncan Learmonth at Spire include:
As well as offering the above treatments, I also treat a variety of disorders causing knee pain and shoulder pain, including; meniscal and cartilage repair, ACL reconstruction and patellofemoral disorders. Alongside this, I also treat shoulder disorders including; subacromial decompression, shoulder stabilisation and elbow disorders.
Spire Parkway Hospital is only able to provide Covid-19 tests to patients undergoing surgery at our hospital. Covid-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service.
