I am a Consultant Physician with over three decades of experience, supporting adults with a wide range of complex medical needs, with a particular focus on older patients. Throughout my career, I have taken a holistic approach, recognising that many health concerns are interconnected and require careful, thoughtful assessment rather than treating issues in isolation.

Alongside my clinical work, I am a Fellow and Examiner for the Royal Colleges of Physicians, and I hold senior roles within the NHS. These positions allow me to contribute to the development of medical standards and education, ensuring that patient care remains at the forefront of everything I do.

I am often asked to provide a further opinion in situations where health concerns are particularly complex or challenging. In these cases, I work closely with patients and other specialists to help clarify diagnoses and develop practical, personalised management plans.

I have extensive experience in the management of stroke and transient ischaemic attacks (TIAs), often referred to as “mini-strokes”. My work spans the full patient journey, from the immediate, hyperacute stage through rehabilitation and the management of longer-term complications.

I also have significant expertise in assessing and managing medical problems that occur alongside or following surgery. This includes carefully evaluating risks before and during procedures (pre- and perioperative assessment), helping to ensure patients are as well-prepared and supported as possible.

In addition, I am experienced in the use of botulinum toxin treatment to help manage spasticity, a condition that can cause muscle stiffness and difficulty with movement, often following neurological illness such as stroke.

I understand that dealing with complex or ongoing health issues can be overwhelming. My aim is always to listen carefully, explain things clearly, and provide balanced, evidence-based advice so you can feel informed and confident in your care.
