Virtual consultations:
My expertise lies in the treatment of patients with oculoplastic, cataract and periocular cosmetic problems. I have been a consultant at the Nottingham University Hospitals since 2010 following a year-long prestigious Fellowship at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. Oculoplastics and cataract surgery have inspired and fascinated me ever since my ophthalmology training days at the Birmingham and Midlands Eye Centre, where I undertook my core training. In my endeavour to give the best possible treatment to my patients in my chosen fields, I also undertook Fellowships at Leicester, The Birmingham Children’s Hospital and overseas in Toronto and Philadelphia and most recently at UCLA, Los Angeles in 2019, a centre for excellence in cosmetic surgery.
I specialise in personalised aesthetic surgery with a focus on natural outcomes with minimal surgical intervention. I also have a vast experience in treating children with oculoplastic conditions. Being a member of the British Oculoplastic Society (BOPSS) and having trained in the intricacies of the eyelids and the periocular region, I am well placed to manage cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and eyebrows.
In cataract surgery I offer surgery as per individual patient needs, be it topical anaesthesia (eye drops only) to the appropriate choice of lens. I undertake complex cataract surgery in the NHS, making me well placed to effectively manage cataracts.
I am regularly invited as a guest speaker to national and international meetings and conduct training courses. At NUH, I train international and national Fellows. I review articles for publication in journals and have published in peer reviewed scientific journals. Currently I co-head the department of Ophthalmology at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, with my colleague.
