I am a consultant hip and knee surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. I also chair the Elective Orthopaedic Board that runs the orthopaedic service in this region.

I graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 1994. I trained in Nottingham and Derby before completing a lower limb arthroplasty fellowship at the Perth Orthopaedic Institute in Western Australia in 2005. I was appointed as a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon in 2007.

I am part of the Nottingham Elective Orthopaedic Unit, focusing on primary, complex and revision lower limb arthroplasty and arthroscopic knee surgery. As a keen sportsman, I also enjoy treating sporting injuries.

I am a trauma surgeon at East Midlands Major Trauma Centre, Queen’s Medical Centre. I have active roles in audit, research, teaching and training, holding the current position of director of education for the East Midlands North Registrar Training Programme.

I have a very large arthroscopic, arthroplasty and trauma practice in Nottingham.

I am a keen sportsman participating in most sports and have resurrected my football career this season, much to my wife’s disgust. I play golf and tennis and particularly enjoy skiing with the family. As a family we love the outdoors and I find the lifestyle a great way to keep fit and relax.

I enjoy foreign travel having toured much of Europe and Australia, experiencing some of the most beautiful and special places in the world (sunset over Cottesloe beach).

Most of all I enjoy spending time mucking around with the family. Our children are growing up fast and I love spending as much time as possible with them and watching them develop, they are a constant reminder of what is important in life.

My personal achievements in the last few years have involved organising an Orthopaedic Ball (2009), Orthopaedics Got Talent (Nottingham Playhouse 2010, 2013 & 2018) and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro twice. This raised money for charity but equally important raised morale and brought pleasure to so many in the Orthopaedic department.
