Professional profile

I graduated from the University of Bristol Medical School in 1996. My training in orthopaedic and trauma surgery was in Nottingham and New Zealand. I am based in Nottingham University Hospital where I am a Deputy Director of Surgery.

My private practice focuses on knee and hip replacement surgery for arthritis. I also perform surgery for 'hip impingement' which is a cause of hip pain in young adults without arthritis. Knee Arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) is undertaken for relevant conditions.

Hip replacement surgery is a dependable operation for achieving a good outcome. However, I pursue techniques to minimise the risk of complications and the risk of failure of my hip replacements is less than half the average rate.

Knee replacement surgery is generally regarded as less consistent in achieving good functional outcomes. However, I use advanced techniques including computer navigation technology and high performance ceramic coated implants in obtaining the best outcomes possible.
