Mr Imran Jawaid
Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus
BSc(Hons), MBChB(Hons), FRCOphth
"I aim to provide a personalised and comprehensive approach to ophthalmic care for my patients in a friendly, approachable and compassionate manner."
I am Consultant Ophthalmologist at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham and sub-specialise in complex paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. I completed my ophthalmology training in the East Midlands before completing a competitive and prestigious fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. I am dual-qualified as an optometrist and an ophthalmologist, and as such I am able to offer comprehensive clinical management for my paediatric and adult patients.
I can offer a comprehensive assessment for patients with eye disease and offer surgical treatments for minor eyelid lumps and bumps, cataract surgery, YAG laser and squint surgery, in children and adults. Alongside this I have a specialist interest in myopia and myopia management.
I have a keen interest in medical education and have taught undergraduate students at two UK medical schools, as well as regularly contributing to CPD events for optometrists at a local and national level. I am a member of the Education Committee at the General Optical Council.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Imran Jawaid at Spire include:
Paediatric ophthalmology, retinal laser, strabismus surgery
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Nottingham Hospital.
