I am a full-time NHS consultant paediatric and adult trauma surgeon at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. I was appointed in 2019 after completing a specialist paediatric fellowship at the internationally renowned Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

I am on-call for paediatric emergencies one in seven weekdays and one in five weekends. My practice includes the spectrum of paediatric trauma (to the appendicular skeleton). I have a special interest in complex paediatric trauma, neuro-disability (spina bifida and cerebral palsy), Perthes disease, curly toes and soft-tissue knee pathology, adolescent bunion/bunionettes, developmental dysplasia of the hip and clubfoot deformity; I also regularly perform surgery for the management DDH in infants and children.

I completed an undergraduate degree (BA) in Sports Medicine at Denison University in Ohio in the United States before returning to England in 2003 to commence my medical studies at the University of Leicester.

My pre-clinical training took place in and around Leicester before commencing higher specialist training on the East Midlands North rotation where I supplemented my training with clinical observerships at Gillette Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis and at the Ponseti International Association at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, USA.

My paediatric practice covers the spectrum of general paediatric pathology (to the appendicular skeleton).
