My main clinical interests are modern management of breast cancer and benign breast conditions to achieve the best outcomes in cancer surgery and breast appearance.
I have experience in surgical procedures such as skin sparing and nipple sparing mastectomies with immediate reconstruction, breast reconstruction techniques with implant, latissimus dorsi flaps (immediate and delayed) and local flaps, therapeutic mammoplasties, symmetrisation procedures including breast augmentation and reduction, nipple reconstruction, sentinel lymph node biopsies, re-do breast surgery and risk reducing breast surgery.
As well as breast surgery and reconstruction for cancer treatment, I also perform a complete range of cosmetic breast procedures which can be life changing for many patients.
I am a Consultant Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon based at the Glenfield Hospital. I am also the Breast Surgery Research Lead and the Educational Lead of my Management Group at the UHL Trust.
I work in and discuss cases with a multidisciplinary team approach. I am actively engaged in local and national research trials.
I completed my specialist training in General Surgery with Breast Oncoplastic Surgery as my subspecialty interest in the East Midlands Deanery. I then undertook a fellowship in oncoplastic breast surgery at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. I was appointed a Consultant at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust in 2013.
