I have been an Upper-GI and General Surgeon for nearly 10 years and I have a special interest in laparoscopic anti-reflux and hernia surgery.
I specialise in upper-GI surgery and I perform open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) operations, such as hiatus and para-oesophageal hernia repair, anti-reflux procedures, cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery) and myotomy for Achalasia, alongside diagnostic and therapeutic upper-GI endoscopy. I also offer a vast spectrum of general surgery procedures, including abdominal wall hernia repair with both keyhole (laparoscopic) and open approaches.
To date I have performed nearly 300 cholecystectomies, over 200 hernias operations (including laparoscopic hernia repair), nealy 100 anti-reflux operation and more than 50 hiatus and para-oesophageal hernia repairs. I also performed over 100 oesophagectomies and more than 50 gastrectomies for cancer, with both open an minimally invasive approaches.
I first qualified with a medical degree from the University of Brescia in Northern Italy, before going on to work in prestigious UK hospitals such as University College London Hospital, Guys and St Thomas Hospital in London, and the Oxford University Hospital NHS Trust. I was appointed by the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2020 in a joint post with the University Nottingham Hospitals Trust. I also practice at the Circle Health Lincoln Hospital and the Park Hospital in Nottingham.
