I am the most senior Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon in the Breast Unit – University Hospitals Leicester with over 25 years experience in breast cancer surgery and 14 years experience at Consultant Surgeon level, with particular interest in preventative breast surgery, surgical standards in breast screening and individualising cancer treatment to include patient choice and patient information.
At an early stage as a consultant and subsequently as Head of Service in Breast Surgery and Cancer Lead of the Breast Multidisciplinary Team in UHL 2006 - 2012 I have been involved in strategic change and implemented new surgical techniques in breast surgery UHL.
I have been a Surgical Professional Clinical Advisor for Public Health England Screening Quality Assurance Service (SQAS) in the East Midlands 2011 - 2017, introducing and developing surgical performance indicators in the East Midlands QA, which now form established national surgical performance indicators in Breast Screening SQAS, Public Health England.
