I am the most senior Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon in the Breast Unit – University Hospitals Leicester with over 25 years experience in breast cancer surgery and 14 years experience at Consultant Surgeon level. I have a particular interest in preventative breast surgery, surgical standards in breast screening and individualising cancer treatment to include patient choice and patient information.

At an early stage as a consultant and subsequently as Head of Service in Breast Surgery and Cancer Lead of the Breast Multidisciplinary Team in UHL (2006 - 2012) I have been involved in strategic change and implemented new surgical techniques in breast surgery UHL.

I have been a Surgical Professional Clinical Advisor for Public Health England Screening Quality Assurance Service (SQAS) in the East Midlands (2011 - 2017), introducing and developing surgical performance indicators in the East Midlands QA, which now form established national surgical performance indicators in Breast Screening SQAS, Public Health England.
