I am a consultant cardiologist at the Nottingham University Hospital and clinical lead for cardiac imaging and specialise in echocardiography, cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear cardiology.
I am also the Training Programme Director for East Midlands North Deanery and a member of the Speciality Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Physicians. I am the current chair of the Education committee and elected council member of the British Society of echocardiography.
I trained in cardiology at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast and gained further experience in cardiac imaging from Wales Heart research Institute and Royal Brompton Hospital, London.
I have over 15 years of experience in cardiovascular imaging and his interests include non-invasive imaging of ischaemic heart disease, valve assessments and cardiomyopathies.
I am passionate about teaching and I have vast experience in lecturing at national and international meetings and courses. I run several regional and national courses.
I am the co-author of several national guidelines and the current lead for echo training of specialists registrars.
