MBChB(Hons), MSc, MD, FRCOG
I am a Consultant Gynaecologist and accredited Subspecialist Urogynaecologist at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with a private practice at Spire Norwich Hospital. I have been a substantive consultant since 2020 and specialise in pelvic floor and bladder problems, including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder and recurrent urinary tract infections.
I studied Medicine at the University of Sheffield, graduating with honours in 2008, and completed subspecialty training in urogynaecology through the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I hold an MD from the University of Sheffield, an MSc in Healthcare Education and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2026.
I provide a comprehensive urogynaecology service, including assessment and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, stress and urgency urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, recurrent urinary tract symptoms, bladder pain and difficulties with bladder emptying.
My practice includes pessary management, urodynamic testing, cystoscopy, bladder Botox treatment, urethral bulking injections and surgery for prolapse, including vaginal prolapse surgery.
In addition, I offer selected benign gynaecology services, including the management of vulval skin conditions, heavy menstrual bleeding, postmenopausal bleeding, ovarian cysts, coil insertion and cervical screening.
I believe that successful treatment starts with understanding which symptoms matter most to each patient and what they hope to achieve from treatment. I explain all available options clearly and use shared decision-making to develop a personalised treatment plan. Where appropriate, I consider conservative and minimally invasive treatments before recommending surgery.
Alongside my clinical practice, I am a Clinical Associate Professor in Translational and Clinical Research at the University of East Anglia and Chair of the British Society of Urogynaecology Research Committee. My research interests include pelvic floor dysfunction, patient-reported outcome measures, digital health and improving treatment pathways. I have authored or co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to book chapters and participated in national multicentre research.
I am also the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists College Tutor at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I teach doctors and medical students. In addition, I serve as an East of England preceptor for advanced training in urogynaecology and vaginal surgery.
My aim is to provide expert, evidence-based care in a calm and supportive environment, ensuring patients have the time and information they need to make informed decisions about their treatment.
