I am an experienced Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, specialising in cataract surgery. I qualified with honours at the prestigious University Campus Bio-Medico of Roma, where I also specialised with honours in Ophthalmology.

I specialise in high volume complex and routine cataract surgery with standard and toric intraocular lenses but also multifocal intraocular lenses.

I obtained much of my vast experience, being trained at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust), Royal Victoria Infirmary (Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) with internationally recognised fellowships in Vitreoretinal Surgery. I also trained at Leicester Royal Infirmary and at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

I completed an advanced Cataract Fellowship at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust under the mentorship of Mr Brian Little.

I was awarded with distinction a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery from the University of Ulster.

I currently work as a substantive Consultant Vitreoretinal and Cataract Surgeon at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

I have an avid interest in clinical and surgical research in vitreoretinal and cataract surgery which I maintain through peer-reviewed publications, involvement in clinical trials and as an invited reviewer for international scientific journals.

I have a strong interest in teaching the new generation of vitreoretinal and cataract surgeons and regularly lecture at international and national meetings.
