I have extensive experience of the investigation and management of gastroenterological (gut) and hepatological (liver) disorders. I have been a consultant for 20 years and am proud of my patient centred care. My experience and commitment to excellence has led to a highly prestigious national silver award.
I specialise in gastroenterology and hepatology and have a special interest in gut and liver disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, oesophageal diseases, gut motility, colonic diseases, abnormal liver tests and liver diseases. I have expertise in colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures.
To date I have performed in my NHS and private practice: Colonoscopy 10,000, upper GI endoscopy 7,500 and ERCP 1300. My key performance indicators are exemplary for the above procedures.
I have held many key local, regional and national managerial positions over the last 20 years. I currently hold the following senior national positions: Deputy Chair of British Society of Gastroenterology Clinical Services and Standards Committee; Quality improvement Lead for British Society of Gastroenterology; Censor of Royal College of Physicians of London.
In addition to my clinical work I am an honorary senior lecturer at the University of East Anglia in recognition of my educational experience and roles.
