I am a leading Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 20 years of experience, currently working at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. My main areas of expertise include cataract surgery with lens implant, squint surgery, strabismus (cross eyes), treatment of amblyopia (lazy eye), refractive errors and paediatric ophthalmology.
I have performed several thousand cataract operations with a success rate amongst the highest in UK. I have also performed more than 300 squint surgeries.
In addition to my clinical work, I am an associate tutor at the University of East Anglia and I am the volunteer board chairman for NSPPL. NSPPL is a charity that provide rehabilitation and prosthetic and orthotic services in war zone areas.
I am an experienced cataract coach and a recognized educational supervisor at the East of England Deanery tutoring medical students, health allied professionals, and trainee ophthalmologists.
I am a keen entrepreneur and winner of the Medtech Accelerator Award to develop my ground-breaking innovation of a corneal graft suturing device. I am Co-investigator in two ongoing clinical trials and projects studying and developing management of Uveitis (eye inflammation) in children (ADJUST International Study and UNICORN National study).
I hold a higher certification in cataract and refractive surgery from Ulster University, UK. I completed one year of fellowship experience in the World prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. Where I developed a keen sub-specialist interest in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus surgery.
