Spire Healthcare goes smoke free

01 January 2019

As of January 2019, Spire Healthcare is completely smoke free.

This means smoking and vaping on site is prohibited at Spire Methley Park Hospital, and all smoking shelters have been removed.

Quitting smoking has so many health benefits. Nicotine is a powerfully addictive drug and using nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) such as patches, lozenges, inhalers and/or gum can double your chances of quitting successfully.

Help is available – you don’t have to do it alone. Many GP surgeries now run smoking cessation clinics and those who attend these are up to four times more successful at quitting than people who rely on willpower alone.
