I have been a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Teaching NHS Trust for more than 25 years.
I specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of hand and wrist conditions, including hand, wrist, thumb and finger pain, joint problems, instability and chronic conditions affecting movement and function.
My practice includes the treatment of trapped nerves and nerve compression conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome and radial tunnel syndrome. I also manage hand and wrist injuries including nerve, tendon, ligament and joint damage, providing reconstructive procedures where needed.
I have extensive experience in treating arthritis affecting the hand and wrist, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and base of thumb arthritis. Treatments may include joint injections, joint fusion or joint replacement surgery, depending on the individual patient’s needs.
I also treat conditions including Dupuytren’s disease, trigger finger and trigger thumb, tendonitis, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, repetitive strain injuries, ganglions, cysts, nail deformities and giant cell tumours.
In addition, I manage complex reconstructive procedures including tendon reconstruction, ligament reconstruction, nerve reconstruction, joint contracture release and reconstruction following burns or trauma to the hand.
Alongside my clinical work, I have a strong interest in education and training and hold an Honorary Senior Lecturer position at the University of Leeds.
