Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I have been a consultant urological surgeon for over 15 years. I specialise in urological cancer surgery (prostate and bladder) but can also investigate for most urological cancers (kidney, prostate, bladder, testes and penis). I can review and assess patients for blood in urine, prostate cancer concerns, and testicular or penile masses/lumps.
I continue to perform general urological investigations and treatments for waterwork (lower urinary tract) symptoms and infections. This includes radiological assessments (CT, MRI and US) as well as visualising the bladder and urethra (cystoscopy).
I have performed over 1,000 cancer procedures, mostly minimally invasive and robotically since 2018. I have performed over 500 cancer diagnostic procedures such as inspection of the bladder (cystoscopy and transurethral resection of bladder tumour) and over 500 bladder outflow procedures (transurethral resection of prostate). I perform over 50 penoscrotal procedures a year including but not limited to circumcision and removal of fluid from the scrotum (hydrocele repair).
I set up the cancer services at Southend university hospital before moving to Mid Yorks Teaching Trust (MYTT). I have improved the cancer diagnostic service at MYTT during my time as cancer lead for urology and have been key in initiating pre biopsy MRI for prostate cancer screening. In addition to introducing the minimally invasive cancer treatments. I currently have access to two Da vinci robotic systems at MYTT. I perform multiple different procedures using the robotic system, including, but not limited to, prostate and bladder cancer surgery.
I am head of service at MYTT for urology as well as the lead clinician for urology at Barnsley Foundation Trust. I was previously the cancer lead for both departments. I am also the clinical lead in the trust for minimally invasive surgery and chair the weekly robotic services meeting.
I am an active member of the West Yorkshire cancer alliance as well as the South Yorkshire cancer alliance. I am involved with the WYAAT urology clinical group.

I have a young son who I spend the majority of my spare time with. When I am not enjoying being a father I cycle, play squash or hike - anything that gets me out of the house and out of breath. On rainy days I paint and read avidly. I can be found in the kitchen on a evening trying to match Jamie Oliver's skills.
