Specialises in
I am a Consultant Gynaecologist with more than 25 years’ experience in women’s health and gynaecological surgery. Over the course of my career, I have developed specialist expertise in minimally invasive gynaecology, menstrual disorders and menopause care.
I have a particular interest in laparoscopic (keyhole) and hysteroscopic surgery and completed advanced training in these techniques, including two years at a specialist laparoscopic endometriosis centre.
I obtained my medical degree from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana, before completing specialist training in the UK under the Yorkshire Deanery. My training included posts across London and Yorkshire, including Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Hull and East Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals, York Teaching Hospital and Harrogate District Hospital.
After initially working as a locum Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester in 2014, I moved to Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2015, where I specialise in minimally invasive gynaecology, menstrual disorders and menopause management. I also serve as Clinical Governance Lead for Gynaecology and hold an Honorary Senior Lecturer post at the University of Leeds.
I diagnose and treat a wide range of gynaecological conditions including heavy, painful or irregular periods, fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, PCOS, menopause symptoms, post-menopausal bleeding and recurrent miscarriage. My practice also includes hysteroscopic treatment for polyps, fibroids and retained tissue following miscarriage, laparoscopic hysterectomy, ovarian cyst surgery, treatment for painful intercourse and surgery for vulval and vaginal conditions.
Alongside my clinical work, I am passionate about teaching and training in gynaecological surgery. I supervise senior trainees completing advanced RCOG training modules and regularly teach on gynaecology courses in the UK and internationally.
