My practice currently comprises the full range of general neurosurgical spinal procedures, predominantly on the cervical and lumbar spine.

I have been fortunate to have received excellent neurosurgical training prior to my appointment as a consultant neurosurgeon in Leeds. I completed general neurosurgical training at various prestigious units in London, including the national hospital for neurology and neurosurgery at Queen Square, before gaining invaluable fellowship experience in skull base surgery and neurovascular surgery at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and King's College Hospital in London respectively.

I currently treat the full range of surgical spinal conditions including back and neck pain, arm pain and sciatica. I perform surgery for cervical and lumbar disc prolapses causing nerve or cord entrapment as well as decompressions to release trapped nerves as a result of spinal degenerative disease. I also perform release of trapped nerves in the arm eg carpal tunnel syndrome.

I am passionate about my job and neurosurgery in general, both of which consume much of my time. I therefore make it an absolute priority that I spend all of my free time with my wife and three children. We enjoy long walks in the countryside, in particular exploring the Yorkshire Dales, foreign travel, eating out at nice restaurants and drinking fine wine.

I have also been actively involved with the British Boxing Board of Control as a medical officer and advisor. In addition, I very much enjoy supporting and encouraging my children with their sporting and leisure activities.
