Specialises in

  • Hip replacement
  • Knee replacement
  • MAKO robot assisted total hip replacement

I am an NHS Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. My specialist interest lies in primary and revision hip and knee replacements. Having undertaken the prestigious Robin Ling Exeter Hip Fellowship in 2023, I have developed a specialist interest in robot assisted total hip replacements using the MAKO robot.

As a graduate from the University of Leeds in 2011, I have undertaken a foundation, core and then higher surgical training in the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery. During this time I  acquired an MSc in Medical Engineering, which involved studying how the correct bio mechanics and correct implant materials which can increase the longevity of joint replacements.

I pride myself on treating and respecting patients as individuals and I am a great believer in doing the right operation for the right patient for the right reason. This leads to good outcomes and low complication rates.

Outside of my surgical practice, I have a great interest in training and developing the next generation of surgeons. I have a PG Certificate in Medical Education. I have sat on numerous national and international training and education committees and remain a member of the RCS Edinburgh Faculty of Surgical Trainers.

My other interest lies in clinical leadership and I have previously undertaken a year as a clinical leadership fellow focusing on how human factors and non-technical skills can improve surgical performance and outcomes.
