Mr Andrew Legg
Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon
MBchB, MSc, FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedic)
"The facilities and staff at Spire Methley Park allow the highest quality of healthcare to be provided."
I completed my orthopaedic registrar training in Yorkshire in 2015. I then undertook two specialist knee fellowships. The first was an international sports orthopaedic fellowship at the UniSports Medicine Centre, Auckland, New Zealand. The second was a prestigious UK knee fellowship with Tim Spalding and Pete Thompson at The University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. I was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Rotherham, South Yorkshire in 2016 specialising in knee surgery.
I specialise in orthopaedic knee surgery, with a specific interest in sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction, osteotomy and partial and total knee replacement.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Andrew Legg at Spire include:
MSc, MBchB, FRCS (Tr&Orth) / University of Leeds / 2005
Master of science; Trauma and Orthopaedics, Degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics)
Rotherham General Hospital
I am happily married to Hannah, who is a palliative care consultant in Leeds, with two young children.
I am a keen sportsman and since starting at medical school in 1999 have been a member of Leeds Medics and Dentist Association Football Club. Sadly due to life becoming too busy I retired from playing in 2017. I still enjoy keeping fit by going to the gym, playing tennis, skiing and cycling with my family.
