Virtual consultations:
I am a Yorkshire trained Consultant Dermatologist who has over 10 years clinical experience in dermatology. I also perform chemical peels and dermal roller procedures. Other than being highly trained in facial rejuvenation I also have considerable experience in the area and have performed over 500 procedures.
During my training I gained a thorough understanding of dermatological conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin allergy and skin cancer. Other than treating these conditions medically I have also qualified to perform skin surgery and have performed over 1,500 skin surgery procedures. I regularly perform audits of my own work to ensure quality and safety in the services that I deliver and am also an audit lead.
Over the past five years I have developed a specialist clinic in skin allergy and patch testing which offers services to a large part of West Yorkshire. As well as a thorough understanding of the anatomy, physiology and treatment of skin diseases, I also have an interest in facial rejuvenation techniques and have completed certified training in the use of anti wrinkle injections. I have also completed courses for basic and advanced techniques in the use of dermal fillers for the purpose of cheek fillers, lip fillers and treatment of nose to mouth lines as well as the downturned mouth.
Please note I do not treat patients with hair or nail problems at Spire Healthcare.
I take an active role in education, teaching both trainees in dermatology, junior doctors and medical students. I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Leeds University Medical School where, other than examining students, I also provide a pastoral role in mentoring students guiding them through their early years at university. I am also well published in the international dermatology literature.
I am a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group.
I graduated as a medical doctor from Leeds University and during my medical degree I decided to undertake an additional degree in pharmacology gaining a BSc Pharm. Having become a doctor in 1999 I then went on to become a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2003. I started my training in dermatology in 2004 before completing my dermatology training in 2008.
