I am a Consultant Endocrinologist at Spire Manchester Hospital and at their clinic in Hale.
I provide specialist outpatient endocrine management including treatment of thyroid and pituitary disease, women’s health issues and menopause, other female and male reproductive and adrenal problems, weight management and metabolic problems, osteoporosis, vitamin D deficiency and calcium problems.
I am an visiting Professor at Coventry University, a member of the British Menopause Society Medial Advisory Counsel and the Society for Endocrinology Public Engagement Committee. I am also an expert advisor to the British Thyroid Foundation, the Prevent Breast Cancer Charity and the University College London Menopause Education and Support Network research group.
I graduated from the University of Manchester in 1992. Working in Manchester and London, I completed an MSc at King's College London and an MD thesis at the University of Manchester. My MD focus was the quality of life and immune function consequences of severe pituitary disease. I held an NHS Consultant post at Salford Royal Hospital until 2019.
I have won a number of awards and invitations to lecture at international endocrine conferences and have published extensively in key endocrine journals and lay press. I have a profile in the media and was named in the Financial Times women of 2022.
