MBBS, MS(Orth), DNB(Orth), MRCS(Ed), FRCS (Tr & Orth)
My areas of interest are hip and knee replacement surgery including complex revision surgery, complex trauma, and pelvic and acetabular surgery. I regularly carry out complex hip replacements for previous pelvic and acetabular fractures. I provide specialist advice and treatment for pelvic and sacroiliac joint-related problems and receive referrals from regional hospitals.
My practice is based on a patient-centered approach. I have excellent patient satisfaction and outcomes (better than the national average) following hip and knee replacements. This is evident in my national joint register (NJR) reports and patient-reported outcomes (PROMS) which are available online.
After completing my medical school (MBBS) and Orthopaedic Postgraduate training in India with a Gold medal, I arrived in the UK to further consolidate my surgical training in 2002. Since then, I have worked in Orthopaedic departments in reputable NHS Hospitals as a senior registrar with extensive experience. I undertook my higher surgical training at Western Sussex Hospitals and Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust and completed my FRCS(Orth) before entering into the GMC specialist register.
I undertook a reputed hip and knee arthroplasty fellowship under Prof Dunlop and Mr Datta at Southampton University Hospitals before taking up a consultant post at the same Hospital from 2017 to 2019 for 2 years and then moved to Manchester in 2019. Since then, I have been based at Salford Royal Hospital, practicing in all aspects of adult lower limb orthopaedics and complex trauma.
