Virtual consultations:
The Knee Clinic Manchester is recognised for pioneering advanced surgical approaches, including the Quad Tendon ACL reconstruction (with the highest number of cases in the UK), biologics and joint preservation strategies, and Mako Robotic Total and Partial Knee Replacement surgery.
I support both professional and amateur athletes in returning to peak fitness through a combination of surgical and non-surgical treatments. I work with athletes from a range of sports, including football, rugby, netball, hockey, and athletics, across various clubs and levels.
My surgical philosophy is founded on teamwork, clear communication, and consistently high standards. I am dedicated to tissue preservation and anatomical restoration, with a strong focus on functional recovery and enhanced rehabilitation—enabling patients to return to their desired level of activity safely and efficiently. I am committed to delivering an exceptional patient journey from initial consultation through to full recovery, integrating innovative technologies and personalised care pathways to support long-term joint health.
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School and taught anatomy at the University of Oxford before completing my surgical training through the Manchester Orthopaedic Training Programme. I undertook a specialist knee fellowship in Germany and, in 2014, was appointed Consultant Knee Surgeon at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. Since then, I have developed a modern, forward-thinking private knee surgery practice, incorporating the latest techniques and innovations.
In addition to my clinical work, I hold Honorary Senior Lectureships at both the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University. I maintain an active involvement in academic research and regularly present at national and international conferences, engaging with global experts in knee surgery and medical innovation.
I am also passionate about education and am frequently invited to teach and demonstrate surgical techniques at major training courses in the UK and abroad, contributing to the development of future orthopaedic surgeons.
