Mr Ashu Gandhi
Consultant Breast & Endocrine Surgeon
I am an experienced Consultant Surgeon with specialist knowledge of breast disorders and also disorders of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. I have a very busy NHS practice in the Nightingale Centre in the University Hospital of South Manchester (Wythenshawe Hospital). My clinical practice is very closely linked to specialist colleagues in Medicine, Radiology and Pathology so that patients know that the whole spectrum of their care is undertaken by experts in their field.
I specialise in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery and Endocrine Surgery and have undertaken hundreds of these operations since I qualified as a Consultant Surgeon in 2003.
Breast Surgery includes cancer operations, reconstruction surgery following mastectomy, breast reduction surgery and of course, assessment of breast symptoms.
Endocrine Surgery involves surgery to the Thyroid and Parathyroid (calcium) glands.
I am one of the surgeons in the Nightingale & Genesis Centre breast cancer family history service. I have published numerous scientific papers relating to breast surgery and endocrine surgery and have been awarded a MD from the University of Manchester for my research on breast cancer.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Ashu Gandhi at Spire include:
