I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Wythenshawe Hospital, part of the University Hospital of South Manchester. I completed my higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the Manchester rotation before undertaking a six-month fellowship in Lower Limb Arthroplasty in Toronto, Canada, where I gained experience in uncemented hip replacement surgery and revision procedures.
Following this, I completed a further fellowship at the University Hospitals of Leicester, developing extensive experience in lower limb arthroplasty and soft tissue surgery of the knee. I joined Wythenshawe Hospital as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in September 2007.
My clinical interests include ACL reconstruction, hip arthroscopy for impingement and labral injuries, knee arthroscopy for meniscal and cartilage injuries, and both primary and revision hip and knee replacements.
I was awarded a Travelling Fellowship by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the John Charnley Trust to support my fellowship training in Canada.
Alongside my clinical practice, I remain actively involved in research and education. I have published over 40 papers in orthopaedic journals and am committed to teaching medical students and training orthopaedic surgeons. I also regularly teach on national and international courses.
