I am a General and Colorectal Surgeon at the University Hospital of South Manchester, and took this position in July 2012. My work involves the treatment of kidney, gallbladder, and gallstones removal.
I completed my medical training in BJ Medical College and David Sassoon Hospital in Pune India, followed by a three year general surgical residency training in SMS College and Hospital in Jaipur, India.
I moved to Yorkshire in 2001 and underwent basic surgical training (2001 - 2003) in Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. I then undertook basic sciences and clinical research under Professor John Monson and Professor Lesley Walker,culminating in an MD in 2005. In 2005, I started my specialist registrar training in the Yorkshire Deanery. I have trained in Leeds, Hull and Sheffield amongst other hospitals in Yorkshire.
I also went for a three month pelvic floor and proctology fellowship to Mannheim, Germany and worked with Professor Alex Herold. After obtaining CCT and completing my specialist registrar training in June 2011, he went to Rochester, New York USA for a colorectal fellowship to further his experience in colorectal surgery.
