Professional profile

I have been working as a Respiratory Paediatrician (Paediatric Pulmonologist) at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Manchester since 2015. I specialise in all aspects of Paediatric respiratory medicine – namely any condition that affects a child’s lungs and airways (breathing tubes/windpipe). This may be manifest in a number of ways, most commonly noisy breathing (wheeze, croup), persistent and recurrent cough, breathlessness or difficulty breathing, recurrent chest infections, and allergy related disorders.

I lead the bronchoscopy, sleep and non-invasive ventilation services at the children’s hospital. I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, and regularly teach medical students and postgraduate doctors.

I qualified in 2003 and did my Paediatric specialist rotation in London including Evelina Children’s and Great Ormond Street Hospital. I did my subspecialty training in Paediatric Respiratory medicine at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, before joining Manchester Children’s Hospital as a consultant.

I am actively engaged in research and training and have widely published in peer reviewed journals. I am the Quality Advisor on RCPCH CSAC that delivers the national training in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine in the UK.

I practice at Spire Manchester Hospital as well as their clinic in Hale, Cheshire.
