Virtual consultations:
I have been working as a Respiratory Paediatrician (paediatric pulmonologist) at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Manchester since 2015. I specialise in all aspects of paediatric respiratory medicine – namely any condition that affects a child’s lungs and airways (breathing tubes/windpipe). This may manifest in a number of ways, most commonly noisy breathing (wheeze, croup), persistent and recurrent cough, breathlessness or difficulty breathing, recurrent chest infections and allergy related disorders.
I lead the bronchoscopy, sleep and non-invasive ventilation services at the children’s hospital. I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester and regularly teach medical students and postgraduate doctors.
I qualified in 2003 and did my paediatric specialist rotation in London including Evelina Children’s and Great Ormond Street Hospital. I did my subspecialty training in paediatric respiratory medicine at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, before joining Manchester Children’s Hospital as a consultant.
I am actively engaged in research and training and have widely published in peer reviewed journals. I am the Quality Advisor on RCPCH CSAC that delivers the national training in paediatric respiratory medicine in the UK.
