MD, PGDip (MedEd), MSc, PhD, MRCP (UK)
I am a Consultant Allergist at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, home to one of the UK’s largest Allergy Departments, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester. With over a decade of experience in the field, I provide comprehensive care across all areas of allergy medicine.
I have extensive clinical experience managing a broad spectrum of allergic conditions, including anaphylaxis, food and drug allergies, hay fever (rhinitis), latex and venom allergies, urticaria (hives), angioedema (swelling), asthma, and eczema. I also specialise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as general anaesthetic allergy assessments, drug and food challenges, and immunotherapy (desensitisation). I treat patients aged 16 and over.
I obtained my medical degree in 2006 and completed the Academic Core Medical Training Programme in Wales Deanery. I was awarded a competitive NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in Allergy and completed my speciality training at the UK’s leading Adult Allergy Department at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. I hold the European (EAACI/UEMS) Knowledge Examination in Allergology and Clinical Immunology, a qualification attained by only a select number of UK Consultants with accredited expertise in Allergy.
In addition to my clinical work, I have a strong background in laboratory and clinical research and have earned both a master's degree and a PhD in Immunology. I am a published author in the fields of basic immunology, drug and food allergy, and telemedicine. I actively contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education and hold a postgraduate diploma in medical education. I am also a named clinical and educational supervisor for Allergy Speciality Registrars. Nationally, I serve as Lead Examiner for the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Certificate Examination under the Royal College of Pathologists.
I am an active member of the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology, European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, World Allergy Organisation, Anaphylaxis Campaign, Royal College of Physicians of London, and the Hellenic Society of Immunology.
