The Endoscopy Unit at Spire London East Hospital is home to dedicated endoscopy facilities and procedures for patients. The Unit underwent a full refurbishment along with a significant investment in new endoscopy and decontamination equipment back in May 2017 costing over £1millon.
So what does JAG accreditation mean for patients? Spire London East Hospital provides assurance to patients that they will be receiving the highest quality of care in an accredited specialist endoscopy unit, by Consultants and staff, who are qualified and experienced working within JAG standards.
Adrian Brady, Hospital Director said: “The assessors from the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) commended and highlighted a number of areas of excellence in the service at Spire London East: excellent communication with patients, significant investment in new state-of-the-art equipment and excellent leadership in decontamination, just to name a few. It is with both pleasure and pride I can announce that Spire London East is awarded JAG accreditation, because to achieve this, hospitals must meet high standards, demonstrate strong management of the service and most of all strive for continuous improvement and good patient outcomes. Would like to use this opportunity and say a huge well done and thank you to all staff members, who contributed to this great achievement. ”
Maureen McNabb, Theatre Manager at Spire London East said: “I am delighted that we have achieved JAG accreditation at Spire London East. The whole team have worked incredibly hard to achieve this accreditation and it is a sign of a job well done. It clearly shows the quality, safety and outstanding service that we provide to patients on a daily basis and it is nice that the unit has this accreditation as recognition.”
Dr Waseem Ashraf, Consultant Gastroenterologist at Spire London East, said: “JAG accreditation was a fitting reward for the faith, investment and commitment shown by Spire London East Hospital in improving their Endoscopy Unit. An accreditation like this is making it easier for us, the endoscopists, to deliver a top class, safe and exceptional endoscopy service for patients. ”
