Professional profile

I am an expert oculoplastic surgeon practicing in the clean and comfortable environment of Spire Hartswood Hospital, Brentwood, Essex.

I specialise in the management of eyelid malpositions (congenital or secondary to aging and trauma), eyelid and facial lumps and high risk skin cancers, watery eyes and tear duct surgery, thyroid eye disease, restorative eyelid surgery post facial palsy, blind eye removal and rehabilitative eye socket surgery to include orbital implants and fat grafts. I offer advanced treatments for dry eyes and blepharitis and for facial dystonias (hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm).

I am one of the well known UK cosmetic oculoplastic surgeons offering eyelid lifts (blepharoplasty and brow lift), scarless droopy eyelid correction (ptosis) and revision cosmetic eyelid surgery. I am highly experienced in non-surgical aesthetic facial rejuvenating treatments with botox and dermal fillers which includes liquid face lifts.

My NHS practice is based at BHR Hospitals NHS Trust (Queen's Hospital) where I head the division of oculoplastic surgery offering a comprehensive eyelid and lacrimal service for children and adults. I am a keen educator and run a surgical training wet lab in basic oculoplastic procedures.

I undertook my fellowship training in Cornea & Oculoplastics at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead (1997), Oculoplastics at Salisbury and Southampton Eye Units (1998), and in Eyelid & Facial Aesthetic Surgery in the Craniofacial unit at The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (2009). I have undertaken Oculoplastic fellowship training at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital (2000-2001) and subsequently worked in their prestigious Adnexal unit for a period of seven years, where I trained budding oculoplastic surgeons. I am frequently invited to lecture at national and international meetings and regularly published in peer reviewed medical journals and textbooks.
