I have been practising ENT surgery since 1996. I graduated from Alexandria University in 1994 with a grade “excellent with honours.” I completed ENT training at Alexandria Main University Hospital and was subsequently appointed as a lecturer in Alexandria University. I moved to the UK in 2004 where I completed my MD thesis, and a few more years of ENT training including completing two advanced fellowships in surgery of the nose and the sinuses. I was appointed as a consultant at BHR University Hospitals in February 2013. In 2014, I spent six weeks visiting a world-class ENT centre of excellence in Italy where I gained further experience in advanced endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery.

I have a broad experience in all ENT fields and the expertise to perform a wide variety of ENT procedures. I have a special interest in nose and sinus surgery including corrective surgery for nasal blockage, endoscopic sinus surgery, endoscopic removal of nasal and sinus tumours and cosmetic nasal surgery (rhinoplasty). Additionally, I have a special interest in surgery of benign neck lumps, as well as voice and swallowing disorders. I perform all general ENT procedures eg tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, grommet insertion and septoplasty.

To date I have performed over 4,000 procedures covering all aspects of ENT.

I am currently the clinical governance lead for ENT at Queen’s Hospital. In addition to my position as a UK consultant, I am also an associate professor of ENT at the University of Alexandria, Egypt.
