Gatwick Park Hospital serve up an ace for young tennis players

24 January 2020

Youngsters are being given the chance to take part in the annual junior tournament series at Redhill Lawn Tennis Club for free, thanks to new sponsorship from Spire Gatwick Park Hospital.

The tournament is open to all young players aged from 5 to 16 years old and begins on Sunday 2 February.

The Spire Healthcare Series is an official Lawn Tennis Association event which means budding young tennis stars will earn ranking points when they compete, so they can work towards being the best in their age group.

“The entry fee used to be £20 but thanks to the sponsorship from Spire Gatwick Park Hospital, this competition is now open to everyone,” said David Earl, Redhill Lawn Tennis Club head coach. “Tennis is a great way to stay healthy, both physically and socially, and it is so important to make this great sport more accessible from a young age.”

The first three confirmed dates for the Spire Healthcare Series at Redhill Lawn Tennis Club are February 2, March 8 and March 28. Weekend dates for May, August and September are still to be confirmed.
