Mrs Emma Moon
I have special interests in; sports injuries and rehabilitation, muscle imbalance, manual therapy, hydrotherapy, Pilates and acupuncture.
I qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in 2002 from Brighton University. I spent 12 years working within the NHS in a large London teaching hospital, developing my specialist musculoskeletal skills in a variety of clinical settings including hydrotherapy, women's health and orthopaedics. I have completed a large number of postgraduate courses including APPI Pilates matwork 1 and 2, foundation acupuncture, The Shoulder Theory and Practice and numerous manual therapy courses. I am working to masters level having completed modules in advanced physiotherapy practice at St George's Hospital, London and am keen to complete my masters in the future. I moved to Edinburgh and joined the Spire physiotherapy team at the beginning of 2017.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Emma Moon at Spire include:
A GP or medical referral is required for all outpatient appointments at Spire Edinburgh Hospitals.
I currently work part-time at Spire as I have two young children at home. In my spare time I enjoy a variety of sports, most notably running. I have completed the London marathon as well as a number of half marathons and I am keen to take part in the Edinburgh Marathon in the future. I also enjoy attending and teaching Pilates and love to see the benefits that participating in pilates has on patients.
