I was educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh. I completed my medical degree at Cambridge University and also obtained a BA honours degree in Medical Ethics, Psychology and the History of Medicine.
I commenced my plastic surgery training in 2003. My specialist training was carried out in Aberdeen and Glasgow. In 2011 I spent a year on fellowship in Australia at the world renowned Royal Adelaide Hospital. I gained extensive experience in microsurgery and reconstruction of complex facial/ head and neck conditions as well as general plastic surgery and aesthetic surgery.
I completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship in Edinburgh with my father and have worked closely with him ever since, gaining invaluable experience on the finer points of cosmetic plastic surgery. I have interests in all aspects of cosmetic surgery including those that I routinely carries out in my NHS practice such as breast augmentation, breast reduction, body contouring and facial plastic surgery.
I am passionate about training and teaches on a number of courses. I am involved in the setting of the written plastic surgery exam for trainees nearing the end of their training. I am a reviewer for the Journal of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and many of my own publications have been widely cited.
